Annual security exercise of Aigina Municipal Port Fund

On October 16, at the offices of the old town hall of Aegina, the Security Consultant Mr. Konstantinos Kavdas conducted the annual security exercise on paper for the Aegina Port Facility. The exercise was attended by the Mayor of Aegina Mr. Yiannis Zorbas, the President of the Port Fund Mr. George Skaltsiotis, the Deputy Mayor Mr. Dimitris Karagiannis responsible for Civil Protection of the Municipality, the President of the Municipal Council Mr. Stelios Therianos, the Harbor Master Mr. Argyris Frangoulis, as well as representatives of the Fire Brigade, Aegina Police Department, Health Center representative, Attica District Civil Protection representative, and Municipal Port Fund officer.

The main objective of the exercise was to prepare and coordinate all participants for the proper implementation of internationally required security measures in accordance with the ISPS Code. Exercise has shown the need to develop an appropriately structured emergency plan and the establishment of a coordination center where representatives of security agencies and bodies can coordinate their actions in real time.
